Blacksmiths Beach House

I would like to thank you sincerely for your efforts in making our trip to Newcastle, to compete in the Australian Schoolboys Under 18s Rugby League Championships, so successful.

From the first class service, advice on what to do and overall assistance during our stay, a big thank you. Also, the facilities at Blacksmiths were perfect and the setting is a wonderful environment for a team away from home.

Not only was the accommodation fantastic for our team, but I cannot express enough my appreciation to the friendly people who reside in the Blacksmiths area. From the local Post Office all the way through to the staff and patrons of the New Orana Hotel we were made to feel like part of THEIR community and this only enhanced our visit more.

I have been touring with junior football teams for many years now and I believe our trip to Blacksmiths was probably the most enjoyable so far.

I would not hesitate in recommending your place of accommodation to anyone wishing to enjoy a holiday in the Lake Macquarie/Newcastle area. And the added bonus is the incredibly friendly bunch of locals who call Blacksmiths their home.

We Scots aren't usually short for words; however, I doubt Burns, Welsh, Stevenson, Banks, or Brookmyre could adequately describe how hospitable Mitch and Kaz are.

Without doubt, this is the best hostel either of us have ever stayed in — not only are the facilities and the surrounding area top notch, but the owners will go out of their way to make you feel welcome and even part of the family!

All I can say is: Thank you !!!!!! I had the best fun and it's unfortunate that I have to leave. All the best, you are doing a fantastic job!

Fantastic place. Best Hostel so far. Thank you Maria & Mick for being so welcoming it's a home away from home here & we will def be back on our way back down. The whole place is beautiful, thank you for taking us on the trip to the beach and for the tacos!!!!! Hope to see you again in a few months…

Friendlest hostel in OZ! Mick & Maria are the ultimate host's. Had such a great time & nothing was ever to much trouble. This is a part of my trip I will never forget. Can't wait to come back. See you both in July for some Tacos!!!

Awesome place guys really , the best we have stayed in by a mile. The Hotel is great, its been more like flat sharing with friends!!!!!!! Blacksmiths & the surrounding area are both stunning & we would certainly stay longer if we had the time. Thanks for a great stay, you guys are the best!!!!

Two & a half months was just not long enough, wish we could have stayed longer. Holiday was cut short but next time we hope to stay longer, this has been the best backpackers in Australia & we love you guys. Thanks for your Friendship & Support your biggest FANS!!!!!
